Did you know that Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is currently helping in recovery efforts from Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Michael.  You can support recovery by donation to PDA. For more information, check out PDA.PCUSA.ORG online or talk to Pastor Laurie.

STEWARDSHIP POTLUCK and PLEDGE CARDS.  Next Sunday, November 4, we will have our annual Stewardship Potluck.  Plan on staying and hearing about the proposed budget for 2019. If you didn’t receive your stewardship letter, your copy is in the office.  Please prayerfully consider your pledge for the support of our church and its vital ministry in 2019. The Session needs your pledge cards by November 25.

CORN MAZE  All children and youth are invited to go to Barbott’s Corn Maze TODAY.  Children elementary age or younger need to have an adult accompany them.  Cost is $8 per person and lunch will be provided at the church before departing for the maze.

THANK YOU FOR FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS!  We are so grateful for all the donations in response to our food pantry requests!  If you are able to contribute additional items we need canned beef stew, boxed cereal and boxed mac and cheese.  Thank you for your generosity!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE      MICAH 6:6-8              NRSV

With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high?  Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil?  Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE      I PETER 3:8-12                     NRSV

Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing. For

“Those who desire life and desire to see good days, let them keep their tongues from evil and their lips from speaking deceit; let them turn away from evil and do good; let them seek peace and pursue it.  For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
