HEALING SERVICE THIS THURSDAY NIGHT.  At 6:40 p.m. this Thursday night, October 17, the Spiritual Life committee will be offering a community healing service.  There will be space to pray for spiritual, physical and emotional healing for ourselves, others and the world.

GROUNDED, OPEN and BUILDING.  And as Pearson Construction works on the physical building of our church this fall, it is important that we also tend our “spiritual house” as individuals and as a congregation.  Pick up the worship outline that details the “Building Bricks” we will be focusing upon each week.

DID YOU KNOW WE SERVED MORE THAN 100 PEOPLE in September at the First Pres food pantry?  Please help us with this important mission. We need corn muffin mix and boxed cereal.  Thank you for your generosity!

THE SACRED SOUNDS OF ARETHA FRANKLIN!  Charlene Jones will be giving an Aretha Franklin memorial concert on Sunday, October 14 at 5 p.m., right here at First Presbyterian Church!  The concert is free. Plan on coming and bring some friends.

MATCHING GRANT CHALLENGE FROM UPTON FOUNDATION! ACHIEVED!!!  THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE      PHILIPPIANS 4:4-7               NRSV

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE      PSALM 100                   NRSV

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
