WEDDING SHOWER AND OPEN HOUSE for Julie and Ryan will be held Saturday, July 28 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the home of Virginia Maxwell.  Bring cash gifts for Julie and Ryan’s honeymoon and prayers and blessings to be written in a book. Please no additional gifts or cards.  Please RSVP to Robyn Neumann or Pat Barrett.

MATCHING GRANT CHALLENGE FROM UPTON FOUNDATION!  Starting on June 4, 2018, every NEW gift (not previously pledged) to OPEN WIDE OUR FRONT DOOR WILL BE MATCHED by the Upton Foundation up to $20,000 total.  A donor has already kicked off this match for us with a $10,000 promise.  This match window will be open until June 4, 2019, but we are hoping to complete the match this summer.   CURRENT MATCH DONATION PROMISED or RECEIVED as of 6/30: $11,140. That means we have $8,860 to go!

BIBLE STORIES and CRAFTS!  Interested in helping to lead a time of Bible stories and crafts on Thursday night for children after the Thursday night supper this summer?  See Laurie or Robyn.

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO GET IN ON OUR BOOK STUDY.  Some of us are reading “A World of Three Zeros” together.  See Margie Willmeng for more details or show up after worship today :).  

LOOKING AHEAD:  On Sunday, August 12 we will be at Lake Michigan for worship.  We will be doing at least one baptism in the Lake during that service.  If you are interested in being baptised for the first time or reaffirming your baptism vows, please talk with Laurie.  

SUMMER YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM —  Please keep our youth, and Gentry, Julie and Hulrick, the program’s leaders, in your prayers.

MORE LOOKING AHEAD.  There will be two times of prayer and planning sponsored by the Session in August.  Save the dates. More details are coming!

AUGUST 4:  SPIRITUAL LIFE PLANNING RETREAT  From 10 a.m.  – 2 p.m. this day we will be meeting to plan worship, education, and other spiritual nurture opportunities for the congregation (healing services?) for the fall, Advent and beyond.  Even if you have not been part of this committee before, please consider coming if you have passion for this part of the life of our church. See Nancy Thompson or Pastor Laurie for more details.

AUGUST 18:  HEALING AND RECONCILIATION (OUTREACH) RETREAT From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. this day we will be meeting to continue the process of re-clarifying the foundation of our outreach projects, evaluate what we are currently doing and dreaming/envisioning what new things God may be inviting us to participate in in our community.  Even if you haven’t been part of the Outreach Committee before, please consider coming if you have passion and creative vision here.
