“YOU ARE NOT ALONE:  TENDING YOUR EMOTIONAL HEALTH” On Tuesday night, June 27, we are hosting the Women’s Health Council of Benton Harbor who will be offering a panel for the community on Women’s Mental Health Issues. This is going to be informative, helpful and a time for community women to gather around vital issues! Please plan on joining us from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and invite your friends. If you can come early and help greet and welcome people that would be wonderful! See Charase Dorsey, Shirley Hagelberg Klemish or Bob Ziebart if you can help!

DISHWASHERS NEEDED We can use dishwashers and “cleaner uppers” on Thursday nights. Come on and join the fun!

SUMMER BIBLE STUDY  This summer, our weekly Bible study will meet on WEDNESDAYS instead of TUESDAY mornings at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Deborah is going to lead us in a study of the book of Ephesians!

SUMMER HAPPENINGS Summer is a busy time at First Presbyterian. Please keep our Summer Youth Leadership Team in your prayers as they prepare to work with a fabulous group of youth from June 27–July 27. Also keep, Charase Dorsey and Evan Ziebart in your prayers as they will be the main people working with our Summer Service Learning Groups. The Berrien Health Bus will be here on Thursday nights! Keep your eyes peeled for more details on this!

SUSAN BURKHOLZ, our fabulous pianist, will be in IRELAND, on a kind of “MUSIC MISSION TOUR” in June. She will be traveling with David Carew, Jim Kraus and a mix of talented musicians from our area singing and offering music in many locations in Ireland. She will not be here in worship on June 18 or June 25. Please keep her and the  team in your prayers.

ABBY TROIKE  will be spending the summer in FRANCE on learning excursion through Michigan State University. Please keep her in your prayers.

WOMEN’S SALAD LUNCHEON  You are invited to Fairplain Presbyterian Church for a women’s salad luncheon on Tuesday, June 13, at noon in the Courtyard room.Speaker will be Pastor Brian Bennett from Overflow Church. RSVP by June 5. 269-925-0041

YOUTH CAMP HENRY UPDATE  Thanks to EVERYONE who helped and contributed to our youth in their efforts to attend Camp Henry this summer. Guess what? They have reached their goal and then some! Alleluia!

PASTOR LAURIE’S SABBATICAL and YOUR PRAYER REQUESTS Pastor Laurie has made a schedule of her activities available. Please pick one up and pray for her during the summer. On the bottom of this schedule is a “tear off” sheet for you to write your own prayer requests. Put them in the box in the narthex and Pastor Laurie will be praying for you and about your requests while on prayer retreats. These must be submitted by June 4.

KRASL ART EXHIBIT  The exhibit of art by African-Americans continues at the Krasl Art Center. There is no admission charge. Please visit and enjoy!

OPEN WIDE UPDATE  As of May 31,  we are close to $420,000 in pledges and donations! Since our goal is now $700,000 (We’ve dropped the parking plan), we are more than 60% of the way to our goal!  Keep sharing the word about this project with your friends.

GOODIES FOR AFTER WORSHIP! The “Marthas” in the kitchen have asked that members remember to bring snacks to share after worship!

SABBATICAL GRANT FUNDS are available for you to explore spiritual renewal practices in your life. See Nancy Thompson or Pastor Laurie for more information.

THE LEAF CAMPAIGN  David Baker, George Barfield & Lois Peeples are creating a permanent tree display of donations from 2015. YOU CAN STILL BUY A LEAF with your name on it or in memory or honor of someone. Donations to “OPEN WIDE.” Gold leaves are $100, silver $50, & copper $10. Forms in narthex!

FOOD PANTRY  You can give donations of money to the pantry or you can bring in the food you committed to bring each month! We are in need of cans of soup, canned vegetables, spaghetti, , and tuna fish.

FALL WOMEN’S RETREAT  Women, MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We will have the chance to go on retreat with the women from Westminster in Grand Rapids on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7. The Rev. MaryAnn McKibbon Dana, a leader in our denomination and a really cool woman, will be leading the retreat and is being funded by our own Lilly Grant. The retreat will be at Camp Henry and scholarships will be available. THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN and REFRESHING!
